LEED
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary, consensus-based, market-driven building rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design means developing and implementing strategies aimed at what matters most: the stewardship of Earth’s precious resources and sensitivity to their environmental impacts. H+K’s POSITION LEED is quickly becoming the future of how structures are designed and built. As architects, we believe that LEED initiatives will soon be integrated into building codes around the country and indeed, throughout the world. H+K recognizes the need to implement LEED principles and techniques to reduce the long-term impact on our environment. We are constantly incorporating sustainable design principles into our work, and we encourage members of our staff to complete a LEED certification course as part of their continuing education in the architectural field. H+K's LEED PROJECTS Over the years, H+K has been involved in a number of energy-efficiency and environmental design projects, and we are currently working on several LEED & LEED equivalency projects throughout northern Nevada. |
