Galena Fish Hatchery
Camp WeChMe / Galena Fish Hatchery

The Camp WeChMe project included renovations to the fish hatchery building itself as well as the Camp WeChMe lodge. New construction included an activities building and a new restroom building. The fish hatchery building is an adaptive-reuse of a 1930s era WPA building of significant historical value. It will become a hall for public meetings, receptions, and camp functions. The lodge was designed in the 1970s by noted local architect Raymond Hellmann. The lodge received a new color scheme, new exterior decks, new windows, and interior improvements. The activities and restroom buildings feature stone veneer, masonry, and shingle siding to blend into the aesthetic of the renovated camp buildings.
