H+K Architects Office
This space is organized in an open‐office configuration to facilitate discussion and exchange between H+K staff, clients, and visitors. The high‐bay space is organized into distinct areas for entrance and reception, library/reference, and studio workstations. The main feature of interest upon entering is the curving wall that displays the work of the firm and defines a visual screen between public areas and the studio space. The wall is not full height, so the entrance space extends visually throughout the entire office. Large overhead doors that were a part of the original building were removed and replaced with clear and translucent glazing to bring natural daylight into the studio space while screening unacceptable views to the immediate exterior. The neutral exterior walls are complemented by vibrant accent colors to define major elements and wall planes. |
